What is the FL20C centrifugal pump for?
The FL20C is a small centrifugal pump for transferring low-viscosity fluids: water, oils, glycols and wines. In the catalogue it appears as a "simple centrifugal pump" because it is the entry-level model in the range: a single size, few parts and a low-power motor.
Despite its size it delivers flow rates of up to 12 m³/h and overcomes up to 10 m head (water column), enough for transfers between tanks, filling machines or auxiliary circuits. It is built in AISI 316 stainless steel, has a Ø 90 mm semi-open impeller and connects as standard with 1" GAS thread on the suction and ¾" on the discharge.
This is the right pump if…
- It transfers low-viscosity water, oils, glycols or wines.
- You need a flow rate of up to 12 m³/h with little head: up to 10 m head.
- You have little space or want an auxiliary pump that is easy to move on a trolley.
- You are looking for a pump in AISI 316 stainless steel with a small motor, of 0.37 or 0.25 kW.
Choose other equipment if…
- You need more flow or more pressure: the FL30CI industrial centrifugal pump reaches 90 m³/h.
- The process requires a sanitary design (dairy, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics): the FL50CI sanitary pump is better.
- It has to draw from a lower level: a self-priming pump, such as the FL90CAI, is better.
- The product is viscous: a positive displacement pump, such as the gear pumps or the FL-PRL lobe pump, is better.
Applications by industry
Where the FL20C is usually installed:
Winery
Transfer of clean wines and filtered musts, laboratory operations and small wineries.
Water and cooling
Treated water, glycols in cooling circuits and machine filling.
Chemicals
Transfer of detergents, solvents and low-viscosity products compatible with stainless steel.
Cleaning
Delivery of diluted cleaning solutions and light brines.
Features and benefits
Compact size
It fits in machines, skids and points of the plant with little space, and delivers up to 12 m³/h.
AISI 316 stainless steel
It resists corrosion from water, wines, glycols and compatible chemicals.
Ø 90 mm semi-open impeller
It lets small suspended particles through without clogging.
Two motors
0.37 kW at 3,000 rpm for maximum flow or 0.25 kW at 1,500 rpm for gentler transfers.
Threaded connection
1" / ¾" GAS thread as standard; DIN 11851, Clamp or SMS on request.
Easy to move
On request it is mounted on a baseplate or a trolley, so it can be used as an auxiliary pump at several points.
Versions and performance curve
The FL20C is a single model with two motors. For other impeller and power combinations, please contact us.
| Version | Motor | Speed | Impeller | Suction / discharge connections | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| FL20C 2 poles | 0.37 kW | 3,000 rpm | Semi-open Ø 90 mm | 1" / ¾" GAS | Maximum flow: transfers, machine filling, cooling |
| FL20C 4 poles | 0.25 kW | 1,500 rpm | Semi-open Ø 90 mm | 1" / ¾" GAS | Gentle transfers of liquids that should not be agitated |
According to the FLUIDMIM catalogue curve, the FL20C delivers 10 m head at zero flow and up to 12 m³/h in service. Motor frame size 71.

Options and customisation
Other connections
DIN 11851, Clamp or SMS instead of the GAS thread, for installations that need quick dismantling.
Motor coating
Stainless steel shroud that protects the motor during external cleaning of the plant.
Baseplate or trolley
Fixed mounting on a baseplate or on a trolley to move the pump between tanks.
Motor at 1,500 rpm
0.25 kW, 4-pole version for gentler transfers.

Frequently asked questions about the FL20C small centrifugal pump
What flow rate and head does the FL20C deliver?
Up to 12 m³/h in service and 10 m head at zero flow. As with any centrifugal pump, the head drops as the flow rate rises: according to the catalogue curve, at 8 m³/h it delivers about 6 m head and at 12 m³/h, about 2 m head.
What is the difference between the 0.37 kW and the 0.25 kW motor?
The speed. The 0.37 kW motor runs at 3,000 rpm (2 poles) and gives the maximum flow rate. The 0.25 kW motor runs at 1,500 rpm (4 poles) and is chosen for gentler transfers of liquids that should not be agitated.
What liquids can it pump?
Low-viscosity fluids compatible with AISI 316 stainless steel: water, oils, glycols, wines, diluted cleaning solutions and light chemicals. For viscous products a positive displacement pump is better.
What connections does it have?
As standard, 1" GAS thread on the suction and ¾" on the discharge. On request it is supplied with DIN 11851 (DN 25 / DN 20), Clamp (1" / ¾") or SMS.
When is it worth moving up to the FL30CI?
When you need more flow or more head. The FL31CI, the small size of the FL30CI series, reaches about 25 m³/h and 24 m head, and the full series reaches 90 m³/h.
Can it draw from a tank located below the pump?
No. The FL20C is not self-priming: it has to work with flooded suction, with the liquid reaching the suction by gravity. If the pump sits above the liquid level, choose a self-priming pump such as the FL80CAI or the FL90CAI.
