MICRO industrial microniser
Industrial microniser for very high-shear micronisation and emulsification in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical processes. Its multi-tooth rotor, which reaches 33 m/s, achieves particles of less than 10 microns and gives excellent results with high-viscosity emulsions.

What is the MICRO microniser for?
The MICRO is InoxMIM's industrial microniser: mixing equipment designed to apply a high degree of shear to the products being mixed and produce a perfect emulsion, with particles of less than 10 microns. It is used for technical emulsions in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical processes, and performs particularly well with high-viscosity products.
The product enters through the centre and passes through a multi-tooth rotor, with several rows of teeth and concentric channels that fit precisely into their negative, machined into the static diffuser. The turbine drives it at high speed through the channels and causes multiple impacts against the cutting edges. The quality of the emulsion depends on this mechanical fit, on the rotation speed, up to 5,000 rpm, and on the robustness of the assembly, with a bearing housing and a cooled double mechanical seal.
This is the right equipment if…
- You need a very fine particle size: less than 50, 15 or 10 microns depending on the model.
- You prepare high-viscosity technical emulsions in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or food.
- You require a sanitary finish and wetted parts in AISI 316L.
- You want robust equipment, with a cooled double mechanical seal and CLAMP connections.
Choose other equipment if…
- You are looking to grind dry solids: the MICRO works with liquid emulsions and dispersions.
- You do not need such a fine particle size and want to emulsify and pump inline, from 1.5 to 30 kW: the EML/EMLT inline high-shear mixer is better.
- You prefer to emulsify inside the tank: the EMV/EMVT emulsifier or the EMF bottom-entry emulsifier is better.
- Your main operation is incorporating powder into a liquid: the EMTB solid-liquid mixer is the better choice.

Frequently asked questions about the MICRO industrial microniser
What particle size does the microniser achieve?
It depends on the model: less than 50 microns with the MICRO 4-3000, less than 15 with the MICRO 7.5-3000 and less than 10 with the MICRO 11-5000.
What is the difference between a microniser and an inline high-shear mixer?
The degree of shear and the particle size. The MICRO uses a multi-tooth rotor of up to 33 m/s that fits into a machined diffuser, and reaches less than 10 microns. The EML/EMLT emulsifies and pumps at the same time, with more power (up to 30 kW), when such a fine particle size is not needed.
Is it suitable for viscous products?
Yes. Its design, the rotor speed and the double mechanical seal give excellent results with high-viscosity emulsions.
Can it micronise dry powder?
No. The MICRO works with liquid emulsions and dispersions: the product enters through the suction, passes through the rotor and leaves through the discharge.
What connections does it have?
CLAMP as standard: 2" on the suction and 2" or 1 1/2" on the discharge, depending on the model. On request, DIN 11851, DIN 11856 or SMS, among others.
What maintenance does it need?
The usual maintenance for high-speed equipment: check the double mechanical seal and its cooling, and the condition of the rotor and diffuser. The fit between the two determines the quality of the emulsion, so they should be checked if you notice the product coming out less fine.
