What is the FL-PH cast iron peristaltic pump for?

In a peristaltic pump the rollers progressively squeeze a rubber tube and push the product towards the outlet. This pressure and vacuum effect drives it without exerting any direct mechanical stress on it, and because the only contact between the product and the pump is the tube, it handles low, medium or high viscosity fluids, abrasive fluids and fluids containing solids.

InoxMIM designed the FL-PH in cast iron to broaden the range of applications for these pumps: water treatment, chemicals, paper, mining, food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Its design aims for more flow and pressure and a longer tube life. It is reversible and self-priming in both directions, can run dry and, having no sealing system, operates with total leak-tightness.

This is the right pump if…

  • You pump mud, sludge, sediments, carbonates or coarse suspensions of coal.
  • You move chemicals such as dyes, glues, resins, paints or inks without them touching mechanical parts.
  • You need to reverse the direction of rotation to empty lines or change product without mixing.
  • The pump may run out of product: the FL-PH can run dry.

Applications by industry

Some of the products the FL-PH handles:

Water, mining and construction

Mud, sludge, sediments, carbonates, coarse coal suspensions, mortars, concrete and fibre cement.

Chemicals, paper and paints

Cellulose, dyes, colourants, glues, resins, detergents, fertilisers, paints, inks, enamels and pigments.

Food industry

Milk, yoghurt, juices, pulps, jams, wines, mayonnaise, fats and used oil collection.

Cosmetics and pharmaceuticals

Creams, gels and concentrates, with no contact between the product and mechanical parts.

Features and benefits

Only the tube touches the product

No contact with mechanical parts: handles abrasive, viscous or solids-laden products.

Reversible and self-priming

Self-priming in both directions of rotation: avoids product losses and mixing between fluids.

Dry running

It can run without product without being damaged.

Total leak-tightness

It has no sealing system, so there is no mechanical seal that can leak.

FDA natural rubber tube

Abrasion-resistant and multi-layered, designed for strength and durability.

Simple maintenance

Roller adjustment and easy assembly and disassembly for maintenance tasks.

Models in the series

Choose the model by the flow rate you need. Both sizes work at up to 8 bar.

Frequently asked questions about the FL-PH cast iron peristaltic pump

What flow rate and pressure does the FL-PH deliver?

The FL30PH delivers up to 2,000 L/h and the FL40PH up to 3,000 L/h, both with a maximum working pressure of 8 bar and a self-priming pressure of -0.7 bar. Maximum power ratings are 1.1 and 2.2 kW.

What products can it pump?

Low, medium or high viscosity products, abrasive or containing solids: mud, sludge, cellulose, carbonates, mortars, dyes, glues, resins, paints, fats, milk, yoghurt, pulps, jams, creams or latex, among others. The product only touches the tube, never the mechanical parts.

Can it run dry?

Yes. Its design allows it to run without product, and as it has no mechanical seal there is no component that can be damaged by running empty.

When is a stainless steel body advisable?

The FL-PH is made as standard in GG-25 grey cast iron and, as an option, with a cast body in AISI 316. The choice depends on the product, the working environment and the industrial or food finish you need; contact us about your case.

What temperature can it withstand?

With the natural rubber tube, from -20 to 80 °C. With other tube materials it can reach up to 150 °C.

What maintenance does it need?

The tube is the wear part and is replaced when it loses elasticity. The pump has roller adjustment and is easy to assemble and disassemble, which simplifies tube changes and inspections.
