What is the FL-ENC external gear pump for?
The FL-ENC is a positive displacement pump: the pump shaft drives one gear (the driving gear), which turns the other (the idler gear), and the fluid flows between the teeth of the two. It delivers a fixed flow rate, works at high pressures and combines high reliability with very effective sealing.
It is well suited to dosing and transferring viscous products and to products handled at temperature: the optional heating jacket, at the front and rear, prevents the product from solidifying. The body is made of ductile iron, the gears of quenched and tempered F-127 carbon steel and the shafts of F-5 steel with a stainless steel coating. The series ranges from the FL50ENC, up to 4,000 l/h, to the FL140ENC, up to 15,000 l/h, all at 14 bar.

This is the right pump if…
- It pumps oils, fats, molasses, starch, cellulose, creams or chocolates.
- You need high pressures, of up to 14 bar.
- You are looking for fixed flow rates from 500 to 15,000 l/h.
- The product has to be kept hot so that it does not solidify.
Choose other equipment if…
- All wetted parts have to be in stainless steel: the FL-ENM monobloc gear pump (up to 2,000 l/h) or the FL-PRL lobe pump is better.
- The product contains pieces or must be handled gently: the FL-PRL lobe pump is better.
- The product is abrasive or contains solids, or you need more pressure: a progressive cavity pump is better.
- It is a low-viscosity liquid and you need flow, not pressure: a centrifugal pump is better.
Applications by industry
Products the catalogue lists for the FL-ENC in the chemical and food industries:
Oils and fats
Transfer and dosing of oils and fats, with a heating jacket if they tend to solidify.
Molasses and sugars
Pumping of molasses and other dense products at pressures of up to 14 bar.
Chocolates and creams
Chocolates and creams handled at a controlled temperature.
Starch and cellulose
Viscous products from the chemical industry, such as starch and cellulose.
Features and benefits
High pressures
Up to 14 bar on all sizes in the series.
Fixed flow rate
Positive displacement pump: the flow rate is stable and suitable for dosing and transferring viscous products.
Reversible
It pumps in both directions.
Hot operation
High performance and the ability to work at high temperatures, with optional heating jacket.
Robust construction
Ductile iron body, quenched and tempered F-127 gears and iron baseplate: long service life in extreme conditions.
Quiet and compact
Low noise level and a compact, highly reliable design.
Models in the series
Choose the size by flow rate. The standard connections are DIN 2576; the table shows the sizes with special connections.

Frequently asked questions about the FL-ENC external gear pump
What flow rate and pressure does the FL-ENC deliver?
Depending on the size, from 500 to 15,000 l/h: the FL50ENC reaches 4,000 l/h, the FL70ENC 7,000 l/h, the FL100ENC 10,000 l/h and the FL140ENC 15,000 l/h. All of them work at up to 14 bar.
Can it be used in the food industry?
Yes, the catalogue intends it for the chemical and food industries, for oils, fats, molasses, creams or chocolates. Bear in mind that the body is made of ductile iron; if the process requires wetted parts in stainless steel, the option is the FL-ENM, in AISI 316, or the FL-PRL lobe pump.
What is the heating jacket for?
To pump products that have to be handled hot without them solidifying in the pump. It is optional, located at the front and rear, and heated by electric heating elements, steam or hot water.
What is the difference from the FL-ENM monobloc gear pump?
The FL-ENC is larger and works at higher pressure: up to 15,000 l/h and 14 bar, with a ductile iron body on a baseplate. The FL-ENM is monobloc, with wetted parts in AISI 316, and is designed for dosing up to 2,000 l/h at 2 bar.
How is it protected against overpressure?
With the optional pressure switch. In a positive displacement pump the pressure rises if the discharge is closed, so a device that stops the motor before the working pressure is exceeded is advisable.
What maintenance does it need?
Basically, check the sealing and the wear on the gears and shafts as often as the use requires. It must not run dry: the product itself lubricates the gears.
