GFL/GFLE vertical agitator
Geared vertical agitator with a parallel-shaft geared motor that runs at low speed with agitating elements with a large blade surface area. The GFL has a single mechanical seal and the GFLE takes whatever sealing each application requires, including for pressure or vacuum.

What is the GFL/GFLE geared vertical agitator for?
The GFL is InoxMIM's geared vertical agitator for homogenising and agitating products in medium and large-volume tanks. The parallel-shaft geared motor turns the shaft at low speed, which makes it possible to fit large-surface blades and achieve high performance. It supports multiple configurations: one or several levels of blades, a combination of impellers, and bottom anchoring with a tripod guide or top anchoring with a support tower.
The GFLE is the version with specific sealing for each application: lip seal or packing gland at low pressure, and a single, dry-running or double cartridge mechanical seal when the tank works at high pressure or under vacuum. Both are used in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and chemical industries.
This is the right equipment if…
- You agitate medium or large-volume tanks with large blades at low speed.
- You make dairy desserts, cream liqueur, juices, gazpachos or chocolate.
- You manufacture gels, soaps, colognes, creams or solutions in cosmetics or pharmaceuticals.
- The tank works under pressure or vacuum (GFLE) or carries out chemical reactions.
Choose other equipment if…
- The tank is small and the product has low viscosity: the direct-drive MD/MDN is enough.
- You are looking for a simpler, more economical geared agitator: the VCI/VCIN with worm gear reducer is the better choice.
- You need to emulsify high-viscosity products under pressure or vacuum: the EMV vacuum emulsifier is the better choice.
- You need a counter-rotating system with anchor and scrapers for very viscous products: the TANDEM is the better choice.

Frequently asked questions about the GFL/GFLE geared vertical agitator
What is the difference between the GFL and the GFLE?
The sealing. The GFL has a single mechanical seal. The GFLE takes whatever sealing the application requires: lip seal or packing gland at low pressure, and a single, dry-running or double cartridge mechanical seal at high pressure or under vacuum.
Can it work in pressurised or vacuum tanks?
Yes, in the GFLE version with mechanical seal. As an option, the seal can be cooled or pressurised by thermosyphon.
What blade configurations does it support?
One or several levels of blades and a combination of different impellers. For example, an off-centre GFLE with AXIAL propellers, a bottom scraper against precipitates and GAMMA propellers at the top, or two levels of GAMMA blades with baffles.
Why does it work at low speed?
Because the parallel-shaft geared motor reduces the shaft speed. This makes it possible to fit large-surface blades, which move a lot of product and deliver high performance in medium and large tanks.
What types of mechanical seal are there?
Three, with dimensions to DIN 24960: single balanced with conical spring and unidirectional rotation; double, in back-to-back arrangement, which makes it easier to change the seal faces; and cartridge with unpressurised flushing, of modular design.
What anchor flanges are available?
IEC type from 160 to 350, DIN 2576 PN10 from DN80 to DN300 and square plate from 250 × 250 to 500 × 500 mm. Other flanges are made to order.
