What is the FL30CI industrial centrifugal pump for?
An industrial centrifugal pump moves low- or medium-viscosity liquids using the centrifugal force of an impeller rotating at high speed. It is the usual solution for transferring between tanks, loading tankers or feeding filters and heat exchangers. The FL30CI is InoxMIM's series for these uses in the chemical, winemaking and food industries: all wetted parts are made of AISI 316 stainless steel.
Its open impeller lets non-abrasive suspended solids through, such as lees or small grape skins, and the simplicity of its components makes maintenance easier. The series has three models: the FL31CI for low flow rates and auxiliary processes, the FL32CI for routine transfer between tanks and the FL33CI for high flow rates or long delivery lines. On each model the impeller is chosen by diameter to match the pump to the duty point.
This is the right pump if…
- It transfers wines, musts, oils, alcohols, solvents or brines.
- The liquid carries non-abrasive suspended solids that would clog a closed impeller.
- You need flow rates of up to 90 m³/h and heads of up to 67 m head (water column).
- You want a stainless steel pump that is simple to maintain, with GAS or DIN 11851 connection.
Choose other equipment if…
- The process requires a sanitary finish (dairy, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics): the FL50CI sanitary pump or the FLUID hygienic pump is better.
- It has to draw from a lower level or empty lines containing air: the FL90CAI industrial self-priming pump is better.
- The product is very viscous or cannot be sheared: a progressive cavity pump or the FL-PRL lobe pump is better.
- It carries whole or delicate solids, as in pumping over or olive transport: the FL-CH helical impeller pump is better.

Features and benefits
Open impeller
It lets non-abrasive suspended solids and moderately viscous products through. Semi-open impeller on request.
AISI 316 stainless steel
Body, impeller, shaft and piping in AISI 316; lantern in AISI 304.
Hygienic mechanical seal
Graphite/stainless steel or tungsten/tungsten faces, with NBR, nitrile or Viton seals.
Few parts
The simplicity of the components shortens assembly, cleaning and maintenance.
Made-to-measure impeller
Diameters from Ø 90 to 140 mm (FL31CI), Ø 130 to 185 mm (FL32CI) and Ø 140 to 240 mm (FL33CI) to match the pump to the duty point.
Three sizes
The same architecture from 0.37 to 22 kW, with 2-pole IP55 motors.

Options and customisation
Semi-open impeller
As an alternative to the standard open impeller, depending on the product and the duty point.
Process connections
GAS or DIN 11851 as standard; also DIN 2576 flanges, Clamp, SMS or RJT, ready for your piping.
Motor coating
Shroud that protects the motor during external cleaning of the plant.
Baseplate or trolley
Fixed mounting or on a stainless steel trolley with a start/stop switch, so the same pump can be used on several tanks.
Made-to-measure impeller and motor
Other combinations of impeller diameter and power on request, to avoid oversizing the motor.

Frequently asked questions about the FL30CI industrial centrifugal pump
What is the difference between the FL31CI, FL32CI and FL33CI?
The size. They share design and materials but cover different ranges: the FL31CI reaches about 25 m³/h and 24 m head with 0.37 to 2.2 kW motors; the FL32CI, 41 m³/h and 40 m head (1.5 to 5.5 kW); and the FL33CI, 90 m³/h and 67 m head (4 to 22 kW).
How does it differ from the FL50CI sanitary pump?
In finish and use. The FL30CI has an industrial or food-grade finish and GAS or DIN 11851 connections, designed for chemicals, winemaking and auxiliary processes. The FL50CI is the sanitary version, with an Ra < 0.8 or 0.4 µm finish and DIN 11851 connections, for dairy, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.
Can it pump liquids with solids?
Yes, if they are non-abrasive suspended solids, such as lees, small grape skins or precipitates. The open impeller lets them through without clogging. For whole or delicate solids, such as olives or grapes in pumping over, the FL-CH helical impeller pump is better.
What connections can it have?
As standard, GAS thread or DIN 11851. On request we supply it with DIN 2576 flanges, Clamp, SMS or RJT.
How is the impeller diameter chosen?
By the duty point: the flow rate and head your installation needs. Each model accepts several diameters (for example, from Ø 140 to 240 mm on the FL33CI) and each diameter has its own motor. Choosing the right impeller avoids oversizing the motor.
Can it run dry?
No. Like any centrifugal pump with a mechanical seal, it needs the liquid itself to cool and lubricate the seal. If the installation could run out of product, a level or pressure sensor to stop the pump is advisable.
