What is the FL-ENM chocolate pump for?
The FL-ENM is a positive displacement external gear pump. The driving gear, in AISI 316, turns with the pump shaft and drives the driven gear, in PTFE; the product travels between the teeth of the two. The displaced volume is proportional to the rotation speed, so the flow rate is precise and fixed, in either direction.
That is why it is used for dosing and transferring viscous products: anchovy paste, chocolates, creams, oils and fats. For those that must be handled at a controlled temperature, it can be fitted with a heating jacket at the front that prevents the product from solidifying or crystallising. There are two sizes: the FL40ENM, from 200 to 1,000 l/h, and the FL60ENM, from 400 to 2,000 l/h.
This is the right pump if…
- You need to dose a viscous product with a precise, repeatable flow rate.
- You work with chocolates, creams, oils, fats or anchovy paste.
- The product has to be kept hot so that it does not solidify or crystallise.
- Your flow rate is between 200 and 2,000 l/h, with pressures of up to 2 bar.
Choose other equipment if…
- You need more flow or pressure, up to 15 m³/h and 14 bar: the FL-ENC gear pump is better.
- The product contains pieces or must be handled gently, such as curd or pulps: the FL-PRL lobe pump is better.
- The product is abrasive or contains solids: a progressive cavity pump is better.
- It is a low-viscosity liquid and you need flow, not dosing: a centrifugal pump is better.
Applications by industry
Products the catalogue lists for the FL-ENM:
Chocolates and creams
Dosing of chocolates and creams, with a heating jacket so that they do not solidify.

Frequently asked questions about the FL-ENM monobloc gear pump
What is the difference between the FL40ENM and the FL60ENM?
The flow rate. Both work at up to 2 bar and have DIN 11851 connections from DN25 to DN32, but the FL40ENM covers 200 to 1,000 l/h and the FL60ENM, 400 to 2,000 l/h.
Is it suitable for dosing?
Yes, that is its main use. The volume it displaces is proportional to the rotation speed, so it delivers precise, fixed flow rates. It is used for dosing anchovy paste, chocolates, creams, oils and fats.
What is the heating jacket for?
To keep the product hot inside the pump and prevent it from solidifying or crystallising. It is optional, fitted at the front and heated by electric heating elements, steam or hot water; it can be complemented with temperature probes.
What is the difference from the FL-ENC gear pump?
The FL-ENM is monobloc, compact and has wetted parts in AISI 316, designed for dosing up to 2,000 l/h at 2 bar. The FL-ENC has a ductile iron body, is mounted on a baseplate and works at up to 15,000 l/h and 14 bar.
How is the pump protected against overpressure?
With the optional pressure switch. As with any positive displacement pump, if the discharge is closed the pressure rises, so a device that stops the pump before the 2 bar working pressure is exceeded is advisable.
Can it run dry?
It is not advisable. The gears are lubricated by the product itself; when run dry they wear, especially the PTFE gear. Make sure there is product at the suction before starting.
