What is the LV wine agitator for?
The LV is InoxMIM's wine agitator for mixing wine in the tank without installing a fixed agitator. It fits onto the tank's ball valve with a DIN 11851 nut/liner connection; the valve is opened, the shaft is inserted into the tank and the agitator is started simply by pressing the start/stop switch.
It is designed as a portable model: it has a carrying handle, is easy to fit and remove, and the shaft slides through the motor. The PLE-type folding propeller, the AISI 316 stainless steel shaft and propeller and the mechanical seal make it suitable for blending, fermentation, gassing and other routine winery operations.
This is the right equipment if…
- You carry out blending, even out temperatures or distribute syrups and sugars in tanks from 10 to 50 m³.
- You want one agitator for several tanks that can be moved from one to another.
- Your tanks have a ball valve with a DIN 11851 DN 50 connection, or MÂCON or GAROLLA on request.
- You need to agitate during fermentation or gassing with SO₂ and CO₂.
Choose other equipment if…
- You want a fixed agitator in a medium or large tank: a flange-mounted side-entry agitator, LMD/LECO or LECOR/LMRE, is better.
- The tank is small and open at the top: an SB/SBR/SBN portable vertical agitator with clamp mounting is better.
- The process calls for emulsifying or dispersing with high shear: an EM vertical emulsifier is the better choice.
- The tank has no ball valve or side connection: see the vertical agitators.
Applications in wineries and beverages
Where the LV wine agitator is usually used:
Blending and fermentation
Mixing wines in the tank, agitation during fermentation processes and evening out temperatures.
Gassing and additives
Distributing SO₂ and CO₂ through the body of wine, and diluting oenological products.
Liqueurs and syrups
Liqueur blends, distribution of syrups and dissolving sugars.
Mixtures and suspensions
Keeping mixtures and suspensions uniform so that the product does not separate or settle.
Features and benefits
Portable
Design with a carrying handle: the same agitator serves every tank in the winery.
Fitted on the valve
It fits onto the tank's ball valve and the shaft goes in with the valve open, without emptying the tank.
Sliding shaft
The shaft slides through the motor to insert the propeller into the tank and withdraw it when finished.
PLE folding propeller
PLE-type propeller in AISI 316 stainless steel, 150 mm diameter.
Mechanical seal
Sealing by a C/C/N mechanical seal and nitrile gaskets.
Easy to use
Easy to fit and remove, and started with a start/stop switch.

Frequently asked questions about the LV portable wine agitator
How is the LV agitator fitted to the tank?
It is attached to the tank's ball valve, with the valve closed, using the DIN 11851 nut/liner connection. The valve is then opened, the shaft is slid into the tank and the agitator is started with the start/stop switch.
What tank volume is it suitable for?
According to the catalogue, for tanks from 10 to 50 m³. It is a single 1.1 kW model at 1,500 rpm with a 150 mm propeller, designed to be moved from one tank to another.
Can it be used if my valves are not DIN 11851?
Yes. The standard connection is a DIN 11851 nut/liner (DN 50), and it can optionally be supplied with other connection systems, such as MÂCON or GAROLLA. Let us know the type of valve on your tanks.
Which materials are in contact with the wine?
The shaft and propeller are made of AISI 316 stainless steel and the gaskets of nitrile. On request, the shaft and propeller can be made of AISI 304.
Can the agitation time be programmed?
Yes, with the control panel with timer offered as an option. As standard, the agitator is operated with a start/stop switch.
Can it be started with the tank empty?
It is not advisable. The propeller and the mechanical seal must be covered by the liquid: without product, the seal runs dry and wears. Before removing the agitator, stop it, withdraw the shaft and close the valve.
