Pumps are machines made for pumping and mixing liquids. Thanks to their continuous rotating mechanism, they can transform the mechanical energy of an impeller into the kinetic or pressure energy of a fluid. There are many types and types for every system that requires a mechanism to propel liquids or fluids.

What types of centrifugal pumps do we have for the food sector?

We have four models of centrifugal pumps: the FL20C, the FL30CI, the FL50CI and the FLUID. In addition, our range also includes other centrifugal or positive displacement pumping systems that cover the vast majority of food applications:

  • Helical turbine centrifugal pumps: these are intended for pumping products containing solid particles with particular care during the transfer process. A specialized product for the food and wine industry.

  • Liquid ring vacuum pumps: are designed for the transfer of clean fluids, which have no solid particles in suspension. They can be used with a wide range of products from different industry sectors.

  • Flexible impeller pumps: they are specially designed for the treatment of viscous or high-density products.

  • Gear pumps: they are characterized by their robustness and reliability. These latest generation pumps are ideal for the treatment of viscous products, both for the chemical and food industry.

  • Lobe pumps: these are high-performance industrial pumps, made of steel, and are also specially designed for processing viscous products. They are one of the highest quality pumps.

  • Progressive Cavity Pumps: the ideal solution for products and applications that need to be processed at very high pressure.

  • Peristaltic pumps: these pumps have the added feature of protecting the fluids being processed from damage, as there are no mechanical parts that come into contact with the liquids at any time. They are used in the food industry for the preparation of juices, sauces, pulps or wines.

Construction Materials

Most centrifugal pumps are made of cast iron or other metals, such as aluminium. These types of materials are used because they can withstand chemicals and harsh conditions that will eventually destroy other materials. The materials used to build a centrifugal pump play an important role in its overall efficiency. As the popularity of centrifugal pumps has increased, pumping research and development has expanded the range of materials used to build them. Strong metals with high levels of corrosion resistance remain the most common material of choice.

However, more and more manufacturers are using materials such as fluorocarbons and thermoplastics for seals and other pump parts.

We handle a variety of models to meet the needs of all industrial sectors that require the use of pumps and centrifuges to develop an efficient and stable system. The following are our most recommended models, depending on the purpose for which they are used:

  • Food/sanitary centrifugal pump.

Sanitary food centrifugal pumps are characterized by their finishes, as they allow them to maintain an excellent degree of sanitation and, at the same time, the simplicity of all their components means that they do not require major maintenance tasks.

  • FL-AL Liquid Ring pumps

These pumps are specially designed for the transit of clean fluids free of solid particles in suspension. They can be used in a wide range of sectors, such as oenology and olive oil (everything related to wines, musts, vinegar, and oils), the dairy sector (milk, whey, etc.), and finally the chemical sector (solvents, detergents, acids, inks, etc.)

  • Self-priming centrifugal pump

In this case, we have two models, the FL80 and the FL90CAI. Generally, they are used in the process of transferring fluids in the food, chemical and oenological industry, where it is not possible to draw in load. Their design and finishes allow all operations to be carried out as hygienically as possible. Within this range, you can choose between several models depending on the need, the size, and capacity can vary from one to another.

  • Centrifugal pump with helicoidal impeller

Thanks to the helicoidal impeller, this centrifugal pump allows the transfer of liquids with suspended solids. This offers a high pumping capacity and care in the transit of fluids. Although it is mainly used in the oenological sector, it is also widely used in food sectors such as the transport of chickpeas, beans, and olives; and also in the dairy sector for pumping yoghurts, curds, cheeses, milk, etc.
